Settlers open fire at Palestinian farmers near Hebron

HEBRON, October 30, 2017 (WAFA) – Israeli settlers Monday opened fire at Palestinian farmers in Masafer Yatta area, to the south of Hebron in the West Bank, according to local sources.

Rateb Jabour, who monitors settlement activities in the area, told WAFA that settlers from the illegal Maon settlement opened gunfire at the farmers who were picking olives from their land near the settlement causing fear but casualties.

He said the settlers regularly attack Palestinian farmers and residents of Masafer Yatta to push them out of their lands.

Around 3,000 Israeli settlers live in illegal Jewish-only settlements in the Yatta area, according to the Applied Research Institute Jerusalem.
