RAMALLAH, October 26, 2017 (WAFA) – The Ministry of Information lashed out on Thursday at British Prime Minister Theresa May for insisting to hold celebrations marking 100 years for the infamous Balfour Declaration.
The ministry said in a statement that May’s insistence to hold the celebrations and bragging about Britain’s role in creating Israel “is a continuation of the greatest political crime in human history and a break away from all diplomatic customs.”
It said that May‘s refusal to apologize for what it described as “the black promise” reflects not only extremist political trends but also indicates a major moral flop by a British premier.
The Ministry said defending what it also described as “a political sin” cannot contribute to a just and comprehensive peace, not only in Palestine, but in the entire world.
It said that defense of the Balfour Declaration means support of the Israeli occupation and racial discrimination as well as pride in the British colonial rule.
