Construction Cost Index up in September

 

RAMALLAH, October 26, 2017 (WAFA) - The Construction Cost Index (CCI) for residential buildings increased by 0.52% in the West Bank during September compared with August, the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) said on Thursday.

The increase was due to rise in the prices of raw materials by 0.66% and labor wages by 0.44%, while rental of equipment decreased by 0.26%.

CCI for non-residential buildings also increased by 0.51% in the West Bank during September due to the increase in the prices of raw materials by 0.63% and labor wages by 0.44%, while rental of equipment decreased by 0.27%.

CCI for skeleton buildings increased as well by 1.03% in the West Bank due to the increase in the prices of raw materials by 1.46% and labor wages by 0.38%, while rental of equipment decreased by 0.23%.

Meanwhile, Road Cost Index (RCI) decrease by 0.11% in the West Bank during September compared with August due to the decrease in the  prices of raw materials by 0.34%, while labor wages increased by 0.87%, operating costs of equipment and maintenance increased by 0.19%, and rental of equipment slightly increased by 0.03%.

The overall Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI) increased by 0.18% in the West Bank during September and Water Reservoirs Cost Index also increased by 1.37%.

The overall Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI) decreased by 0.27% in the West Bank during September compared with August, said the PCBS,
