RAMALLAH, October 25, 2017 (WAFA) – President Mahmoud Abbas’ remarks on the Chinese proposal for Middle East peace dominated the front page headlines in Palestinian Arabic dailies on Wednesday.
The dailies reported Abbas called for drawing up plans in order to propagate the Chinese President Xi Jinping’s vision for the peace process.
Al-Quds added the Chinese Communist Party unveiled a new central committee and enshrined Jinping’s though in the constitution.
The dailies spotlighted various official statements regarding the implementation of the Egyptian-brokered reconciliation deal between Fatah and Hamas.
Al-Quds and al-Ayyam reported the Palestinian leadership has started consultations on the formation of a new government incorporating various political factions.
Al-Quds and al-Hayat al-Jadida reported a plan was being developed by the government in order to revive the electricity sector in the besieged Gaza Strip.
Head of the Qatari committee tasked with Gaza reconstruction was reported in al-Quds and al-Ayyam announcing Qatar would fund the construction of the government headquarters and the president’s office in Gaza.

Covering Israeli military raids, al-Quds reported Israeli forces detained a number of Palestinians and seized cash during multiple overnight raids across the West Bank.
Al-Quds and al-Ayyam said dozens of Israeli Jewish settlers forced their way into East Jerusalem’s flashpoint Al-Aqsa Mosque compound.
The dailies added staff of the so-called Israeli Municipality of Jerusalem delivered demolition orders to a number of Palestinian homes in East Jerusalem neighborhood of Silwan.
