RAMALLAH, October 25, 2017 (WAFA) – Palestinian exports increased in August by 3.3% compared to July, and by 8.8% compared to August 2016 and reached $91.7 million, according to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS).
Exports to Israel increased in August by 5.8% compared to July and represented 92.9% of total exports in August.
On the other hand, exports to other countries decreased by 21.5% during the same period.
Meanwhile, imports increased in August by 8.3% compared to July and by 11.2% compared to August 2016 and reached $494.7 million.
Imports from Israel increased by 4.3% in August compared to July and represented 56.1% of total August imports.
At the same time, imports from other countries increased by 14% in August.
The trade balance, which represents the difference between exports and imports, showed an increase in trade deficit by 9.6% in August compared to July and by 11.7% compared to August 2016 and reached $403 million.
