JENIN, September 27, 2017 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Wednesday detained 17 Palestinians in multiple predawn raids across the West Bank, said Palestine Prisoner’s Society (PPS) and security sources.
Israeli forces detained four Palestinians during a raid in Jenin refugee camp in the northern West Bank, after storming and searching their homes.
The raid sparked clashes during which forces fired tear gas canisters and live ammunition at local youths who protested the raid and attempted to block their passage. No injuries were reported though.
Forces also detained three Palestinians, including a father and his son, in similar raids across the northern West Bank district of Tulkarem.
In a consecutive raid into al-Far‘a refugee camp, south of Tubas, troops detained a Palestinian.
Two other Palestinians were handcuffed and detained in separate raids into the northern West Bank districts of Qalqiliya and Nablus.
Meanwhile, troops detained two Palestinians after storming and thoroughly searching their homes in the central West Bank district of Ramallah and al-Bireh.
In the southern West Bank, troops detained two Palestinians after breaking into and ransacking their family homes in Duheisha refugee camp and Husan village, located to the south and west of Bethlehem respectively.
In the meantime, troops detained two Palestinians from Hebron-district town of Yatta and confiscated their two vehicles. Troops also detained a third Palestinian in the nearby town of Dora.
