RAMALLAH, September 26, 2017 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Tuesday sealed off the entrances to the village of Beit Sourik, northwest of Jerusalem, and imposed a curfew on the village as soldiers raided the home of a Palestinian who earlier shot dead three Israelis at the entrance of a nearby Israeli settlement, according to a local official.
Nimr al-Jamal, 37, from Beit Sourik, opened fire at Israeli border police and security guards at the entrance to Har Hadar settlement killing three and wounding a fourth before he was shot dead.
Mutassem Qandeel, member of the Beit Sourik village council, said Israeli forces raided the village at 7 in the morning and closed off all of its entrances preventing anyone from going in or out of the village and forced shops to close before declaring a curfew.
He added that soldiers also raided and closed a United Nations-run health clinic despite the number of people who need treatment.
Reports said the soldiers raided the home of al-Jamal, searched it and arrested his brother.
Meanwhile, forces also closed entrances to Beit Iksa, a nearby village, and prevented anyone from entering or leaving it.
