Abbas thanked Trump for providing the opportunity to meet with him for the fourth time in Trump’s first year in office, stating that, if this is any proof to anything; it proves the seriousness of Trump to achieve the deal of the century in the Middle East during this year or in the coming months.
Abbas expressed confidence in Trump’s determination to achieve peace in the Middle East, which he said, gives the Palestinian leadership the assurance that a true peace with the Israelis will be reached.
Abbas further stressed that achieving peace would benefit both parties; the Palestinians and Israelis, offering congratulations to the Jewish people celebrating the New Year, which happens to coincide with Muslims new year and according to Abbas, is a nice coincidence that proves that both sides can coexist forever.
