NEW YORK, September 19, 2017 (WAFA) – Presidential spokesman Nabil Abu Rudainah said the position of President Mahmoud Abbas towards the peace process, settlements and the two-state solution would be clearer after his expected meeting with US President Donald Trump.
Abu Rudainah said, on the eve of the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, there may be a chance for peace based on the resolutions of international legitimacy “if the US administration is determined to do so”.
“As is known, on November 29, 2012 Palestine won an international consensus in the UN General Assembly that recognized a Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem is its capital. We are keen to urge the international community to turn this it into a reality,” he said.
