Egyptian Coptic tourist hurt in Bethlehem gets presidential treatment

BETHLEHEM, April 13, 2017 (WAFA) – President Mahmoud Abbas has ordered to provide full medical treatment and hospitable stay to an elderly Egyptian Coptic tourist after she suffered a fall in one of Bethlehem hotels while on an Easter pilgrimage to the Holy Land, Bethlehem Governor Jibreen al-Bakri said on Thursday.

Cicil Fahmi Ibrahim, who was visiting Bethlehem with her daughter whose husband was killed during the latest attacks on Coptic churches in Egypt, fell down at one of the city’s hotels and suffered a broken spine.

She was admitted to hospital for treatment but since she had no one to take care of her, Bakri raised her situation with President Abbas who gave immediate orders to provide her and her daughter with all necessary medical treatment and stay in the city until she recovers and be able to return home.

He said Ibrahim was moved to the Arab Rehabilitation Society Hospital in Beit Jala, which is specialized in such cases, for treatment.
