RAMALLAH, March 30, 2017 (WAFA) – Israeli police shooting and killing of a Palestinian mother in Jerusalem and the summit of Arab leaders in Jordan were the highlight of the three Palestinian Arabic dailies on Thursday.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida highlighted at the top of its front page police killing of Siham Nimr, 49, from Shufat refugee camp in Jerusalem, a mother whose one of her sons was also shot and killed by police in the camp in September apparently by mistake, after she allegedly attacked them.
The other dailies highlighted this story on their front page, but gave more prominence to the Jordan summit, speeches by Arab leaders, particularly President Mahmoud Abbas, and its decisions.
The papers also said the leaders of Palestine, Jordan and Egypt held a meeting to discuss and coordinate positions since all three leaders are travelling to Washington in the near future to meet with US President Donald Trump.
The papers also reported on Land Day, which coincides on Thursday, marking 41 years for the Israeli police killing of six Palestinians from inside Israel during protests against Israeli confiscation of Palestinian land.
Al-Quds also said fanatic Jewish groups are planning to butcher animals for the Jewish Passover (Pessah) holiday near the Muslim holy place, Al Aqsa Mosque.
Al-Ayyam said Israel demolished homes of two brothers in Jerusalem and a third in Bethlehem.
