SALFIT, March 28, 2017 (WAFA) – Three Palestinian customs officers Tuesday found themselves in Israeli custody after they prevented an Israeli truck from smuggling goods into the Palestinian areas.

A statement by the Palestinian customs department said three of its officers stopped a truck with Israeli plates for inspection and found out that it was bringing Israeli goods without official papers into Salfit, a Palestinian town in the north of the West Bank near the illegal Israeli settlement of Ariel.

The truck, however, tried to escape and while doing this it hit the Palestinian patrol injuring one officer who suffered a broken arm.

An Israeli police patrol came to the area and detained the three Palestinian officers at Ariel settlement and held their vehicle, said the report.
