RAMALLAH, Aug 21, 2016 (WAFA) – The three major Arabic dailies focused on the deteriorating health condition of Palestinian detainee in Israeli jails Bilal al-Kayed, who has been on hunger strike for 70 days in protest of his detention without charge or trial.
The Committee of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs, according to the three dailies, reported that the situation in Israeli prisons has gone on high alert due to fears over Al-Kayed’s life.
The dailies also focused on the meeting of Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah with Palestinian security officials in Nablus, in the aftermath of clashes between the security and outlaws in the city which resulted in the killing of two Palestinian policemen and two armed men.
Al-Quds said president of the Supreme Islamic Committee and Governor of Jerusalem Adnan Al-Husseini warned about ongoing Israeli steps to take over al-Aqsa Mosque compound in the city, which is the third holiest place in Islam.
Al-Hayat Al-Jadida reported that Israeli authorities renewed for the second time the administrative detention, without charge or trial, of the member of the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate Omar Nazzal.
