Dailies Highlights Israeli Demolition of Palestinian Structures

RAMALLAH, March 30, 2016 (WAFA) – The three major Palestinian dailies Wednesday focused on Israeli authorities’ demolition of Palestinian-owned structures in Jerusalem and the West Bank.

Al-Hayat al-Jadida said Israeli forces demolished an amusement park and an animal barn in Jerusalem neighborhood of Silwan, as well as demolished four homes and two animal barns in the village of Rammoun, near Ramallah.

Al-Quds and Al-Ayyam quoted President Mahmoud Abbas as saying: “The Palestinian authority can’t continue fulfilling its [peace] obligations unilaterally” in the tenth session of Advisory Council of Fatah.

Al-Hayat Al-Jadida reported that the Advisory Council of Fatah launched its 10th session in presence of President Mahmoud Abbas.

Al-Ayyam and Al-Hayat Al-Jadida reported that hundreds of Israelis demonstrated in front of an Israeli court looking into the killing of a Palestinian young man by in an Israeli soldier, demanding the latter’s release.

Al-Quds said that the United Nations expressed it concerns over increasing Israeli demolitions of Bedouin-owned structures in the West Bank.

Al-Ayyam and Al-Hayat Al-Jadida reported that Israeli parliament Knesset approved a first reading of two bills that grant Israeli settlers new tax concessions.

Al-Quds and Al-Ayyam reported that clashes erupted between Palestinian security forces and gunmen while the former were trying to arrest a wanted person in Nablus, in northern West Bank.

Al-Hayat Al-Jadida reported that Prime Minister Rami Al-Hamdallah demanded a UN investigation into Israeli violations of the Israeli extrajudicial executions of Palestinians.
