RAMALLAH, February 10, 2014 (WAFA) –
Palestinian Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah, Monday cancelled a pre-scheduled
official field visit along with the President of the European Parliament,
Martin Schulz, to Khan Al-Ahmar in the Jordan Valley.
Hamdallah, decided to call off the
visit with Schulz to Khan Al-Ahmar after Israel insisted on intervening in the
agenda of the visit; an interference which the Palestinian Cabinet perceived as
an Israeli action meant to foil the visit.
Hamdallah stated that the Israeli
side conveyed contradictory messages about the visit, which comes as part of a
series of meetings that are being held by Schulz with the Palestinian side in
order to support the Palestinian efforts for Palestinian Statehood with Jerusalem
as its capital.
Hamdallah pointed out that the
Palestinian side is always eager to helping visitors to achieve the aims of
their visits.
The Palestinian Government stressed
its commitment to insure the success of Schulz visit in order to support the
international efforts in general and the European efforts in particular in
achieving the Palestinian people demands to establish an independent state with
Jerusalem as its capital.
