Vice President Al Sheikh discusses Yatta situation and escalating colonists’ attacks with Fatah delegation

 

RAMALLAH, June 30, 2026 (WAFA) – Vice President of the State of Palestine Hussein Al Sheikh received on Tuesday at his office a delegation led by Secretary-General of the Fatah Movement for the Yatta and Suburbs Region Nabil Abu Qbeita, along with members of the regional leadership and representatives of the city's institutions and community figures, to discuss the situation in Yatta and the challenges it faces as a result of the ongoing attacks by the Israeli occupation and colonists.

Al Sheikh welcomed the delegation and stressed that the Palestinian leadership is closely monitoring the conditions of citizens in Yatta and its surrounding areas amid the continued violations by colonists, including the ongoing seizure of land and attacks on property.

He praised the steadfastness of the city's residents in the face of the occupation and reaffirmed the leadership's commitment to supporting their resilience.

For his part, Abu Qbeita and the accompanying delegation reviewed the key issues related to Israeli colonization and its impact on the social, economic, and political situation in Yatta and its surrounding areas, noting that they are among the areas most affected by discriminatory Israeli colonial policies.

Abu Qbeita stressed the need to continue efforts to protect citizens and ensure adherence to the fundamental principles of international humanitarian law.
