Norway plans ban on trade in goods produced in Israeli settlements

RAMALLAH, June 21, 2026 (WAFA) – The Norwegian government announced its intention to ban its citizens and companies from trading in goods produced in Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories.

"Norwegian citizens and companies should not profit from or support activities that perpetuate Israel's illegal settlement activity in Palestine," Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide said in a statement.

The proposed legislation, which is likely to be passed by the Norwegian parliament, includes a ban on import and export transactions involving goods from Israeli settlements in the Palestinian territories, as well as a ban on real estate transactions.
