RAMALLAH, June 17, 2026 (WAFA) – The Ministry of Religious Endowments and Affairs condemned the arson attacks by colonists on two mosques in the towns of Jaljulia and Mazra'a al-Nubani, north of Ramallah.
In a statement, the Ministry said that this serious attack targeting places of worship violates all international laws and conventions that guarantee the protection of holy sites.
It emphasized that these attacks represent a dangerous escalation and a provocation of the feelings of the Palestinian people, and fall within the framework of a policy targeting Islamic and Christian holy sites.
It held Israeli authorities fully responsible for the attacks and their consequences, arguing that the incidents occur within a context of ongoing violations against religious and cultural heritage sites.
The Ministry called on the international community and human rights and humanitarian organizations to intervene urgently to stop these violations, provide protection for places of worship and holy sites, and hold the perpetrators accountable for their repeated crimes against the Palestinian people and their holy places.
It further emphasized that Palestinians remain committed to protecting and preserving their holy sites, asserting that such attacks will not undermine their resilience or steadfastness.
