Foreign Ministry condemns colonists’ terrorist attack in Huwara, calls for activating international sanctions

RAMALLAH, June 6, 2026 (WAFA) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates on Saturday condemned the terrorist attack carried out by armed colonist gangs, under the protection and support of Israeli occupation forces, on the town of Huwara south of Nablus, which resulted in at least nine injuries.

The attack also included assaults on the municipal building and several homes, the destruction of vehicles, the theft of property and livestock, the siege of a citizen inside a livestock barn, and the opening of fire toward residents.

The ministry said in a statement that the attack falls within an official Israeli policy allowing colonist gangs to carry out organized terror against the Palestinian people through assaults on civilians, homes, institutions, and property, and by creating a climate of fear and intimidation aimed at forcibly displacing Palestinians from their land.

It added that the escalation reflects a dangerous transformation in organized colonist crimes carried out under the protection of the occupation army, within the framework of a colonial plan aimed at creating coercive conditions to forcibly displace Palestinians, carry out ethnic cleansing, and consolidate colonial control over the occupied Palestinian territory, holding the Israeli government fully responsible for the continuation and escalation of these crimes.

The ministry further stressed that official Israeli protection, immunity, and impunity for perpetrators are key factors behind the continuation and escalation of such crimes.

It called on the international community and all countries to assume their legal and moral responsibilities and take immediate and practical measures to stop colonist violence and provide international protection for the Palestinian people.

It called for the activation of international sanctions as a tool to end impunity and achieve justice, including a comprehensive boycott of the colonial system and all institutions, associations, and companies that engage with it, considering such engagement as encouragement of colonist crimes.

It also urged the implementation of international law through banning settlement products from entering global markets, imposing sanctions on symbols and perpetrators of colonialism, activating universal jurisdiction, and exerting pressure on the occupying government that sponsors these crimes, as well as all those involved in crimes against humanity in the occupied Palestinian territory, including East Jerusalem.
