PM Mustafa: Intensive efforts underway to recover withheld funds and safeguard continuity of state institutions

RAMALLAH, July 15, 2025 (WAFA) - Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa stressed the urgent need for increased international pressure to stop the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and to end the suffering of hundreds of thousands facing man-made starvation by ensuring the urgent and adequate entry of humanitarian aid to curb the spread of the deepening famine.

The Prime Minister affirmed that intensive preparations are well underway to ensure the success of the upcoming “Two-State Solution” conference, scheduled to take place in New York later this month. The conference is being organized in coordination with Saudi Arabia, France, and other international partners and friendly countries, with the aim of unifying efforts to revive a binding political process based on ending the occupation and realizing the independent Palestinian state.

In his remarks at the onset of the weekly Cabinet session on Tuesday, Mustafa noted that Palestinian political outreach and engagement remain ongoing with various international stakeholders to push for an end to Israeli terrorist colonial-settler gangs' attacks and to recover Palestinian tax revenues illegally withheld by the Israeli occupation—a critical lifeline for ensuring the continued functioning of state institutions and the delivery of vital services to citizens.

As part of the Government’s initiative to localize healthcare services and reduce dependency on costly external referrals, the Cabinet approved new criteria for referring medical cases to hospitals inside the Green Line. Under the revised policy, referrals will be limited strictly to life-saving cases, based on clearly defined medical standards overseen by a dedicated committee. The Government will also explore referrals to neighboring countries when treatment is unavailable in Palestinian hospitals.

In a related context, the Cabinet approved the procurement of additional quantities of specific medications to meet the growing needs of patients among our people.
