Presidency condemns escalating Israeli terrorism in occupied West Bank

RAMALLAH, August 14, 2026 (WAFA) — Presidency spokesperson Nabil Abu Rudeineh condemned on Friday the escalating terrorism exercised by Israeli occupation forces and terrorist colonists in the occupied West Bank, most recently the attack in the town of Qusra, south of Nablus, the siege on Palestinian families, and attempts to establish colonial outposts on Palestinian-owned land.

Abu Rudeineh said the continued terrorist attacks by the occupation forces and colonists constitute war crimes under international laws and conventions, holding the occupation authorities responsible for their devastating consequences as they pursue a policy of escalating tensions and imposing a fait accompli on the ground, to implement their schemes intended to forcibly displace the Palestinian people.

He added that these attacks, along with the Israeli crimes in the occupied West Bank, including occupied Jerusalem, constitute a dangerous escalation targeting the Palestinian people, their land and resources, undermine the prospects for achieving peace and stability, and threaten to trigger a conflagration across the entire region.

He called upon the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, to shoulder its responsibilities and compel Israel to halt its full-fledged aggression against the Palestinian people, end the colonist terrorism and attacks, provide international protection for Palestinians, hold perpetrators accountable, and not allow impunity to prevail.

He affirmed that security, stability, and a just and comprehensive peace cannot be achieved without ending the Israeli occupation and realizing the independence of the State of Palestine on the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with UN resolutions and international law.
