JENIN, May 31, 2025 (WAFA) – An Israeli military vehicle rammed into a bus carrying pilgrims early Saturday morning in the northern West Bank city of Jenin, causing panic among the passengers, according to local sources.
The incident took place near the Jenin Governorate Square as the bus was preparing to depart for the city of Jericho. From there, the pilgrims were scheduled to cross the Karama Bridge border crossing into Jordan, en route to Saudi Arabia to perform the Hajj pilgrimage.
Eyewitnesses and officials said the collision appeared to be deliberate. Deputy Governor of Jenin, Mansour Al-Saadi, confirmed that the Israeli army vehicle rammed directly into the bus, which was parked outside the Governorate Compound.
The bus was transporting elderly pilgrims, many of whom are relatives of martyrs and wounded Palestinians. Some passengers also suffer from chronic illnesses. Although no injuries were reported, the bus sustained damage and the incident caused significant distress among the pilgrims.
