RAMALLAH, April 23, 2025 (WAFA) – For about a month, Israeli occupation forces have been conducting extensive land-leveling operations on lands belonging to residents of the villages of Jinsafut and Al-Funduq, east of Qalqilya.
Jalal Bashir, head of the Jinsafut village council, told WAFA that the occupation forces are continuing their land-leveling operations in the eastern area of Jinsafut village, with the aim of paving a wide colonial road linking the Israeli colonies located east of Qalqilya city with its northern surroundings.
He emphasized that the new colonial road will pass through the main Qalqilya-Nablus road, known as "55," and will connect the settlements located on Jinsafut village lands: Immanuel, Qarni Shomron, and Qedumim.
For his part, Louay Taym, head of the village council in Al-Funduq, stated that the project will destroy at least 220 dunams of fertile agricultural land, owned by approximately 70 farmers. It will also threaten approximately 200 additional dunams due to their location adjacent to the colonial bypass road, rendering them unusable for agricultural or residential use.
He explained that the project's implementation has led to the closure of several agricultural roads that facilitated farmers' access to their lands in a short time. This has increased the farmers' suffering and made it more difficult for them to access the remaining lands.
Commenting on this, Munif Nazzal, the official in charge of the settlement file in the Qalqilya Governorate, said that the project comes within the framework of a colonial plan that aims to connect the major colonial blocs to each other, by isolating and geographically separating Palestinian villages,
