RAMALLAH, March 18, 2025 (WAFA) – The Arab Parliament Tuesday denounced in the strongest terms the renewal of the Israeli occupation's military assaults and aerial attacks on the Gaza Strip, which claimed the lives of at least 404 Palestinian civilians, including children and women.
In a statement, the Arab Parliament affirmed that this aggression and the continued targeting of civilians in the Gaza Strip, including children, women, and the elderly, and the demolition of homes, represent a clear disregard for the rules of international law.
The Arab Parliament further described this escalation as an official evasion of the obligations of consolidating the cessation of the war of genocide, a disruption of international efforts supporting a ceasefire, the reconstruction plan, and the establishment of a Palestinian state.
For his part, Arab Parliament Speaker Mohammed Al-Yamahi said that the continuation of this escalation would exacerbate the humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip, where more than two million Palestinians are living under bombardment, with a severe shortage of basic necessities.
"This is part of the occupation's policy of starvation, preventing the entry of aid into the Strip, especially during the holy month of Ramadan, and destroying the foundations of daily life in the Gaza Strip," added Al-Yamahi.
He also slammed this escalation as it aims to eliminate the Palestinian presence as part of a systematic plan to destroy what remains of the Strip and impose a new reality consistent with its goals of displacing its population.
Al-Yamahi called on the international community, the Security Council, and influential countries to shoulder their responsibilities and put pressure on Israel, the occupying force, to halt the genocidal war committed against civilians and hold those responsible for these crimes accountable as war criminals,
He also called for providing protection for civilians and expedite the entry of humanitarian and medical aid into the Strip to reduce famine and the tragic conditions, urging for a firm international stance to ensure an immediate cessation of the aggression.
