CAIRO, February 6, 2025 (WAFA) – Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa held a meeting today with his Egyptian counterpart, Mostafa Madbouly, at the headquarters of the Egyptian Cabinet in Cairo. The discussion focused on enhancing support for the Palestinian government's efforts in implementing early relief and recovery plans, as well as providing urgent humanitarian response to the needs of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
The meeting centered on addressing key priorities, including temporary housing, debris removal, and the partial reconstruction of homes damaged during the ongoing conflict, in preparation for longer-term rebuilding efforts.
Prime Minister Mustafa also briefed his Egyptian counterpart on the latest developments in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, and particularly discussed the ongoing Israeli aggression in northern West Bank governorates and refugee camps.
He further briefed the Egyptian Prime Minister on Israel’s destruction of infrastructure, homes, and public facilities, as well as the ongoing violence, detentions, forced displacement, and the imposition of checkpoints and closures throughout Palestinian cities, towns, and villages.
Mustafa expressed his deep appreciation for Egypt's longstanding and steadfast support for Palestine and its people on the international stage. He also acknowledged Egypt's efforts in mediating a ceasefire to halt the Israeli assault on Gaza, emphasizing the importance of continuing efforts to prevent further escalations.
Additionally, Mustafa praised Egypt's firm stance in rejecting the displacement of Palestinians from their land, whether in Gaza, the West Bank, or Jerusalem.
The meeting was attended by a number of senior Palestinian officials, including Interior Minister General Ziad Hab al-Reeh, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Wael Zaqout, Minister of Social Development and Relief Samah Hamad, and the Palestinian Ambassador to Egypt, Diab Al-Louh.
