Israeli forces continue wide-scale military offensive in Jenin and its camp for the fifteenth consecutive day

JENIN, February, 4 2024 (WAFA) For the fifteenth consecutive day,  the Israeli occupation continues its aggression on the city of Jenin and its camp, resulting in the killing of 25 Palestinians,  amidst widespread destruction to the infrastructure and the demolition and bombing of dozens of homes.

Additionally, the Israeli occupation forces notified the family of the slain Palestinian Nidal Al-Amer that their house near Al-Ansar Mosque would be detonated, while two homes were demolished deep inside the camp amidst the sounds of explosions resulting from the demolition and destruction of citizens' property inside.

The occupation continues to send more military reinforcements to the city and camp of Jenin through the Jalameh military checkpoint.

The occupation forces also detained a young man after seizing his vehicle near Al-Hathnawi roundabout in the center of Jenin city.

UNRWA stated that the Israeli aggression on the Jenin and Tulkarm camps displaced thousands of Palestinians, noting that the horrific scenes in the West Bank portend a new escalation.

Regarding the booby-trapping and demolition of about 20 buildings in Jenin camp, the agency said, "We did not receive any prior warning about the explosions in Jenin camp, and contact with the Israeli authorities is no longer allowed, while large parts of the camp were destroyed in successive explosions."

For his part, the mayor of Jenin, Muhammad Jarar, affirmed that 35-40% of the neighborhoods are still deprived of water as a result of the destruction operations, as the most important water well, "Al-Saada", has been out of service since the first day of the aggression.

Jarar pointed out that this aggression is the most difficult since the invasion of the camp in 2002.

In light of the ongoing Israeli aggression, education continues in public and private schools in the city and camp of Jenin electronically, while the Directorate of Education in the city has allowed displaced students to enroll in schools in the villages and towns to which they were displaced until the withdrawal of the occupation army.
