JERUSALEM, February 2, 2025 (WAFA) – The Jerusalem Governorate documented the killing of one Palestinian citizen and the injury of 13 others by the Israeli occupation forces in January 2025.
The injuries were caused by live ammunition, rubber-coated metal bullets and severe physical assaults, in addition to several cases of suffocation due to tear gas inhalation.
According to statistics released by the Public Relations and Media Unit in the Jerusalem Governorate on Sunday, 82 detentions were recorded during the same period, including four children and 14 women. Additionally, 31 Palestinians were sentenced to actual prison terms, including nine administrative detentions, three house arrests, and four deportation orders.
The Governorate also reported that 9,531 Israeli colonists stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound under the protection of Israeli occupation forces. Furthermore, 39 demolitions and bulldozing operations were carried out against homes and structures, including 14 forced self-demolitions, where Palestinians were forced to demolish their own homes to avoid excessive fines, and 21 demolitions executed by Israeli forces. Additionally, four operations to level land and streets were conducted.
Additionally, 15 attacks by colonists were documented, including physical assaults, the targeting of Palestinian property, vehicles, homes, and religious sites, as well as the blocking of main roads and disrupting movement, all under the protection of Israeli occupation forces.
The report further highlighted that as of the end of January 2025, Israeli authorities continued to withhold the bodies of 45 slain Palestinians from Jerusalem, holding them in refrigerators and so-called numbered cemeteries.
