TULKARM, January 31, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces have continued their military assault on the city and refugee camp of Tulkarm for the fifth consecutive day, carrying out widespread demolitions of public and private properties, infrastructure destruction, and home explosions.
At dawn on Friday, Israeli forces detained five young men after besieging two houses in the city. The raid was accompanied by heavy gunfire and the intensive presence of reconnaissance drones flying at low altitudes.
WAFA correspondent reported that Israeli soldiers surrounded a house in the Al-Muhandisin Housing area east of the city. Using loudspeakers, they ordered those inside to surrender. Simultaneously, a special Israeli military unit, supported by armored vehicles, besieged another house in the southern part of the city.
Israeli forces fired live ammunition and sound bombs toward the houses, triggering clashes in the area. However, no injuries were reported.
Meantime, Israeli occupation forces continued their siege of Thabet Thabet Government Hospital and Al-Israa Specialist Hospital in the city, taking over surrounding high-rise commercial buildings and obstructing the movement of ambulances and medical personnel, subjecting them to searches and field interrogations.
Additionally, Israeli troops detonated several homes in the narrow alleyways of the besieged Tulkarm refugee camp after forcibly evacuating residents at gunpoint. Explosions were heard throughout the camp, along with the burning of makeshift tents and structures.
