Israeli forces vandalize olive groves west of Bethlehem

BETHLEHEM, January 29, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces Wednesday vandalized olive groves in the Battir town, west of the occupied West Bank city of Bethlehem, according to an anti-wall and colonial settlement activist.

Ghassan Elayyan said that the occupying forces, escorted a bulldozer, broke into the al-Khammar area, southeast of the town, where the heavy machinery razed a four-donum plot of land, uprooting dozens of olive trees and tearing down stone retaining walls.

He added that the area has become a target of frequent attacks committed by Israeli colonists, with such attacks including taking over large swaths of Palestinian land and setting up colonial outposts.

Over 700,000 Israeli colonists are living in colonies in the West Bank and East Jerusalem in violation of international law.
