HEBRON, January 29, 2025 (WAFA) - Israeli occupation forces demolish on Wednesday a Palestinian-owned house in the town of Deir Samet, west of Hebron city.
WAFA correspondent reported that the occupation forces demolished a house belonging to local resident Mohammad Aqtil, in Khalat Taha near the town of Deir Samet, with an area of 100 square meters, under the pretext of building within areas classified as C.
The father of the owner of the house, Mahmoud Aqtil, told WAFA correspondent that the occupation bulldozers demolished the house with all its furniture and contents, after forcing his son's family of 9 to evacuate it since the aggression on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, and prevented them from returning to it, which forced them to reside in a family home in the village of Kharsa.
Aqtil indicated that the occupation forces demolished the house without prior warning, and prevented its owners from reaching it.
He said the family was surprised by the demolition operation, and learned about it from the citizens.
It is worth noting that this area is constantly exposed to attacks by colonists and the occupation army, including demolishing citizens' homes, and chasing shepherds and preventing them from reaching their agricultural lands.
Khallet Taha is considered one of the areas threatened with seizure and colonization. The Israeli occupation seeks to control 3,000 dunams of citizens’ lands there for the benefit of the colonization, especially Nijahot colony near the area.
