Palestinian youth dies from wounds sustained in Israeli raid on Jenin

JENIN, January 26, 2025 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced today that Abdel Jawad Yasser Al-Ghoul, a 26-year-old resident of Jenin refugee camp, has died from critical injuries sustained last Tuesday during an Israeli military raid on the camp.

Al-Ghoul was shot during an incursion by Israeli special forces into the Jabriyat neighborhood and surrounding areas. He was transferred to the Istishari Hospital in Ramallah, where his condition was described as critical. His death was confirmed today.

With Al-Ghoul's death, the number of Palestinians killed in the Jenin Governorate since the start of the ongoing Israeli offensive has risen to 16, with dozens more injured.

Jenin Governor Kamal Abu al-Rob said today that Israeli forces had demolished around 20 homes in the Al-Damaj neighborhood of the Jenin refugee camp. He expressed concern that there could be additional victims trapped under the rubble, especially as the Israeli occupation forces have prevented ambulance teams from entering the camp to assist the wounded and search for victims.

Abu al-Rob also stated that Israeli forces had blocked journalists from covering the atrocities in the camp, including the destruction of homes and roads.
