RAMALLAH, January 26, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces have significantly escalated their restrictions on movement around the city of Ramallah in the central occupied West Bank, according to local sources.
Witnesses reported that the Israeli army closed the Birzeit-Attara gate, the northern entrance to the city of Al-Bireh, and the Nabi Saleh gate to the northwest.
Additionally, heightened restrictions have been enforced at the Ein Sinya checkpoint, located to the north of the city, where residents have faced rigorous and time-consuming searches, resulting in severe traffic jams for those trying to leave the city.
In a further development, an Israeli military checkpoint was set up at the entrance of the village of Aboud, northwest of Ramallah, severely impeding the movement of local residents.
Meanwhile, the Attara checkpoint is enforcing extensive checks of identity cards, causing significant delays and further disruption to daily life.
These intensified measures have led to widespread frustration and significant disruptions for Palestinians in the area.
