RAMALLAH, January 25, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation authorities have intensified movement restrictions at military checkpoints in the Ramallah and Al-Bireh governorate, in the central West Bank, disrupting the movement of Palestinian commuters.

Reports indicate that Israeli forces at checkpoints on the main and bypass roads leading to the governorate are obstructing the flow of civilian vehicles, causing severe traffic congestion, especially for those trying to enter.

Major disruptions were observed at the checkpoints of Beit El, Atara, and Al-Taybeh. Additionally, the Israeli gate at the entrance to the town of Silwad has been closed in both directions.

Additionally, a new checkpoint has been established at the entrance to the village of Aboud in the northwestern part of the governorate. Vehicles at that point are being subjected to extensive inspections.

In addition to the restrictions, Israeli occupation forces carried out incursions into the villages of Turmus Ayya, Beit Liqya, and Al-Mughayyir. No detentions were reported during these attacks.

These measures have led to widespread frustration among residents, who say the restrictions are disrupting daily life and increasing tensions in the area.
