Israeli forces shoot, detain Palestinian near Ramallah

RAMALLAH, January 24, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces Friday evening shot and detained a Palestinian in Kafr Ni'ma village, west of the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah, according to local sources.

They said that the occupying forces opened fire at Tareq Misbah Jibrin, 37, while driving his car, injuring him with the glass from his car’s windshield as bullets pierced it.

They added that Jibrin, who works as a taxi driver and lives in the nearby city of Beitunia, was taken by surprise by the emergence of an Israeli army patrol force who raided the town before the latter opened fire at him.

The soldiers also rounded up a father along with his son from the town.

The patrol force raided the village purportedly to take down the flags of Palestinian factions already hoisted in the town as part of preparations to receive some prisoners who would be released as part of the second batch of Palestinian prisoners on Saturday under the Gaza ceasefire agreement.
