Ismail Jaber affirms the Security Establishment’s role in maintaining law and order

JENIN, December 10, 2024 (WAFA) – Lieutenant General Ismail Jaber Tuesday affirmed the Security Establishment’s role in maintaining law and order across the occupied West Bank.

Lieutenant General Jaber, who serves as the President’s Advisor for Governorates Affairs, made his comments during a meeting of the Jenin Governorate Executive Board in the attendance of the Minister of Interior Maj. Gen. Ziad Hab Al-Reeh, Jenin Governor Kamal Abu al-Rub, Coordinator of the Governorates Affairs Muwafaq Daraghmeh and representatives of official institutions in Jenin.

The meeting was held within the framework of following up on President Mahmoud Abbas’ instructions with regard to establishing law and order and maintaining domestic stability and community-based security in the wake of the extraordinary events taking place in Jenin city and refugee camp. It was also held as part of the Security Establishment’s mandate and role to fend off all attempts aimed at undermining civic peace and security.

Lieutenant General Jaber affirmed that President Abbas’ instructions regarding the need to not cause destruction in the West Bank, impose security and rule of law, pursue fugitives and that PASF are allowed to access everywhere would be implemented.

On his part, Minister of Interior Hab Al-Reeh affirmed that the Security Establishment would move forward through the implementation of tasks and role assigned to it in terms of establishing law and order, maintaining domestic stability and community-based security, and sanctity of Palestinian blood.

Referring to the detonation of a car bomb in the heart of Jenin city, which resulted in several casualties among civilians and PASF personnel, Hab Al-Reeh also affirmed the Establishment’s role in terms of eradicating phenomena that fail to conform to the customs and habits of the Palestinian people.

Jenin Governor Abu Al-Rub said that no place is off limit to PASF when it comes to tracking down fugitives, imposing security and implementing law for the ultimate purpose of rebuilding what the Israeli occupation has destroyed.
