British Foreign Secretary demands urgent entry of more humanitarian aid into Gaza

RAMALLAH, Friday, January 5, 2024 (WAFA) - British Foreign Secretary David Cameron affirmed his country’s position in demand of the urgent entry of more humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip.

During a telephone call with foreign minister Reyad al-Malki, Cameron stressed his country’s concern over the continuing killings, destruction, and starvation in Gaza, and the failure of the international community to reach a truce and play its part in upholding international humanitarian law.

The British Foreign Secretary also condemned statements made by extremist Israeli ministers, in which they called for relocating Palestinians to other countries, in violation of their fundamental right to remain on their land.

Malki thanked Cameron for his rejection of Israeli statements calling for the displacement of Palestinians and briefed him on the developments of the Israeli aggression on Gaza, which began on October 7th.

Malki further emphasized the failure of the international community to provide humanitarian needs to the Strip, the collapse of the health sector there, and the need to provide emergency field hospitals to help cope with the high number of wounded who do not have access to the minimum basic services.

The two ministers agreed to continue contacts to coordinate action for an end to the war, to reach a ceasefire, and to speed up the entry of aid needed to confront the real and unprecedented famine in the Gaza Strip.
