RAMALLAH, Saturday, October 14, 2023 (WAFA) – The Israeli occupation authorities continued this morning to detain Palestinians in raids at their homes throughout the occupied territories, according to various sources.
In the Hebron governorate in the south of the West Bank, which has witnessed the largest number of detentions in recent days, the occupation forces rounded up nine people, one of them 16 years of age from the town of Beit Awwa.
Five others were detained in the southern West Bank governorate of Bethlehem after raiding their homes.
In the north of the West Bank, Israeli forces detained three people, one of them from the city of Jenin after raiding the city early this morning, and the other two, former prisoners, were detained from two different locations in the governorate.
In Ramallah, soldiers broke into different neighborhoods in the city and area towns and villages, detained four people, and sealed closed two branches of a restaurant, one in Birzeit and the other in Silwad, following publishing of posts on Facebook.
In nearby Qalandia refugee camp, soldiers detained two people at their homes. People confronted the soldiers during the raid, resulting in the shooting and injuring of one youth, said local sources.
The Palestinian Prisoner's Society said that Israel detained at least 400 Palestinians in the West Bank since last Saturday when the aggression on Gaza started, most of them from Hebron and occupied East Jerusalem.
