RAMALLAH, Tuesday, September 12, 2023 (WAFA) – Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh gave instructions today to send a team from the Civil Defense and the Ministry of Health to participate in efforts to rescue victims in flood-stricken Libya.
Under the directives of the President Mahmoud Abbas, Shtayyeh said the team will help in rescue works after the devastating storms, floods, and torrents that swept through the city of Derna in eastern Libya, which resulted in significant losses of life and property.
The Prime Minister expressed his deepest condolences and sincere feelings of sympathy to the Libyan government and people over the victims of floods and torrents, wishing a speedy recovery for the injured.
Shtayyeh also offered his condolences to the Palestinian community in Libya, which lost a number of its people in that tragic disaster.
