Newspaper Review: Rally against home demolitions in Silwan focus of dailies

RAMALLAH, Sunday, July 16, 2023 (WAFA) – Palestinian Arabic-language dailies focused today on the Israeli occupation forces’ dispersal of a nonviolent rally held yesterday in the occupied Jerusalem neighborhood of Silwan in protest of home demolitions by the occupation authorities.

These are the main headlines:

Al-Quds:

- Injuries in a series of attacks by [Israeli] settlers, and [Israeli occupation forces] suppress a rally against the demolition of homes in Silwan.

- Netanyahu was rushed to hospital and kept under medical supervision.

- Tens of thousands of Israelis take part in renewing demonstrations against the Netanyahu government.

- Israel targets Lebanese with gas bombs, including journalists and a parliamentarian.

Al-Hayat Al-Jadida:

- [Israeli occupation forces] suppress a rally against the demolition of homes in Silwan, and settlers attack Palestinian citizens in Masafer Yatta.
