RAMALLAH, Friday, July 14, 2023 (WAFA) – The very hot and dry heatwave continues to affect Palestine today, with temperature rising to 6°C above the annual average, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).
Winds are westerly to northwesterly, light to moderate, active at times, and sea waves are low.
Temperature in the capital, Jerusalem, and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 34°C and a low of 24°C, and in Ramallah and Hebron a high of 33°C and a low of 23°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea, and the Jordan Valley temperature is expected to reach a high of 45°C and a low of 29°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 33°C and a low of 26°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.
Temperature is expected to further rise to 6°C above the seasonal average on Saturday, said the PMD.
Another rise in temperature is expected on Sunday, approaching 9°C above the seasonal average. Extremely hot conditions are expected.
Similar weather conditions are expected for Monday, with temperature staying 9°C above the seasonal average.
PMD warned people during the heatwave against direct exposure to the sun for long periods during peak hours, and against setting fire to dry grassy areas.
