JERUSALEM, June 20, 2012 (WAFA) - The United States condemned in the strongest possible terms the 'provocative attack' on a mosque in the West Bank village of Kfar Jabaa near Ramallah, said a statement by US Department of State spokesman Victoria Nuland released on Tuesday.
Israeli settlers set fire late Monday night to Kafr Jabaa’s mosque and wrote slogans in Hebrew on the mosque wall indicating that their act was to avenge Israeli government plans to evict settlers from Ulpana outpost built on private Palestinian land in the illegal settlement of Beit El near Ramallah.
Nuland said “hateful, dangerous, and provocative actions such as these are never justified.”
US noted that the Israeli Government has condemned this heinous attack and pledged to bring the perpetrators to justice, as well as called on Israeli law enforcement officials to do so expeditiously.
