RAMALLAH, May 29, 2011 (WAFA) - Palestine News and Information Agency (WAFA) monitored incitement and racism against the Palestinians and Arabs published by the Israeli media between May 13 and 19.
'Israel Today’ newspaper published many articles, which held Palestinians responsible for the Nakba and denied their right to the ownership of the land. Dror Edar wrote an article titled “That’s How We Survived the Nakba”; in which he said that “‘the real catastrophe’ is the inability of Arabs living in Israel to achieve their goal; terminate the Jewish existence in Israel.”
He added, “They tried everything; theft, murder and bombing. They allied with the Nazis to terminate Jews in Europe! They even defiled the dead bodies of our soldiers!”
Amnon Lord instigated against Arabs, protesting against the Israeli policy in the opening article published in ‘Makor Rishon’ religious newspaper under the title “Arab Demonstrations are Organized Massacres against Jews.” He mocked the murder of the Palestinian boy Milad Ayash, saying “they got THE martyr they needed to start a series of riots according to ‘Arab Anger Day’ recipe!”
He added, “Commemorating the Nakba is a disgraceful phenomenon based on war principles and national revenge; i.e. The Nakba expresses the Palestinian identity.”
‘Makor Rishon’ published another inciting article by David Atman titled “Arab Minority is a Fifth Column that Must be gotten rid of”; in which he said, “Israelis feel alienated in the Arab world and believe that Arabs ally with entities which aim to exterminate Israel.”
He said, “The Israeli nation can’t allow two nations with different loyalties to live in Israel and because of that it must terminate any fifth column minority.”
Ben Kasbit, an Israeli journalist, criticized Arabs and Palestinians, accusing them of being the reason behind all problems in the world, in an article titled “Arabs are Stuck in the Dark Ages” published on ‘NRG’ website. He said, “When we see the raged protesters who promised to terminate us, we understand why Arabs are still stuck in the dark ages.”
He added, “Arabs in general and Palestinians in particular earned the Nakba! Did anyone force them not to accept United Nations general assembly resolution 181 or attack Israel?”
‘Yedi'ot Aharonot’ newspaper published an article by Boaz Handle; where he answered 'yes' to the question 'Should Israel act aggressively against Nakba upheaval?' and claimed that Arabs in Israel are stirring up riots.
'Nakba didn't make Arabs in Israel act extremely and publicly conspiring against Israeli sovereignty. This is a complex and profound process. These demonstrations are cynical and cooperative with the enemy, thus we must reconsider the level of tolerance,' he said.
He instigated against Arabs, saying 'to waive on dealing cruelly with the rioters is to wave the rights and sovereignty of everyone living outside Israel.'
Elyakim Haetzani accused Abbas of creating 'Black September' in an article published in ‘Yedi'ot Aharonot’ newspaper; in which he refuted ‘Deir Yassin’ massacre and attacked the Israeli Left-wing.
Haetzani said that the Jewish estimation of Palestinian casualties didn't exceed 46 with Jewish casualties as well, whereas Arabs exaggerated the events and claimed hundreds of dead, resulting in a mass flight and a Nakba. He accused Abbas of finding this 'Black September.'
He also attacked the Israeli Left, saying that it supports the Arab aggressive acts against the Right. He called for responding to the declaration of a Palestinian state with imposing an Israeli control over the Jewish areas to prevent a Palestinian sovereignty, which will be a threat to Israel.
Under the title 'You Won't Return,' Nahum Bernaa published an article in ‘Yedi'ot Aharonot’ newspaper; in which he said that the Palestinians will not return to Israel, and called them to have another dream.
'Cousins! it's been 63 years, there are Palestinian parties that build up illusions of returning among refugees in Syria and Lebanon. This may lead to violence that will sweep the entire area,' he said. 'If you want to live in democratic, Zionist Israel, you must realize that what's done is done.'
House Committee Chairman Yariv Levin (Likud) wrote an instigating article against Palestinian president Abbas in 'Israel Today' newspaper; in which he claimed Abbas to be ‘the wolf in disguise in Little Red Riding Hood’ (sarcastic tone).
He said, 'Over the years, the Palestinians manifested a false version of their right in a Palestinian state, which has never been before, and a false version of a catastrophe they blame us for, while they were the one who fought to exterminate us.”
