RAMALLAH, May 23, 2011 (WAFA) - Central Committee of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) Monday said that it will attend meetings of the Executive Committee of the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) due to ‘critical political developments’.
Omar Shehadeh, politburo member of PELP, announced in a press conference in Ramallah that PELP’s decision came in line to support the national unity efforts against the US-Israeli political plan that aims to foil the reconciliation agreement.
PELP Deputy General Secretary, Abdul Rahim Mallouh, said that PELP’s refusal to name any of its members to participate in the upcoming government is due to Hamas and Fatah’s 'bilateral monopoly.'
Eight PLO factions, which included the Popular Fronts for the Liberation of Palestine, Palestinian People's Party, the Palestinian Democratic Union, the Palestinian Popular Struggle Front, Palestinian Liberation Front, the Arab Liberation Front, and the Palestinian Arab Front, announced on Saturday that they will not take part in naming a prime minister and cabinet ministers for the new national unity government.
