RAMALLAH, July 26, 2010 (WAFA)- Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) reported Monday that Producer Price Index Increased (PPI) by 0.73% and Wholesale Price Index (WPI)  increased by 0.39% during the Second quarter 2010 compared with the First quarter 2010, in the Palestinian Territory

The results indicated that there was an increase in the price index for the Palestinian Territory with its 2007 base year (2007=100) as follow:

The overall Producer Price Index (PPI) reached 112.79 in the 2nd quarter 2010, with 0.73% increase compared with the 1st quarter 2010, and the overall Wholesale Price Index (WHI)  reached 112.90 in the 2nd quarter 2010, with 0.39% increase compared with the 1st quarter 2010.

Analysis of producer price developments for this quarter indicates changes in the following major groups as follow: Agriculture goods + 1.68%; Manufacturing group + 0.24%;  Fishing + 0.04%; and Mining and quarrying - 1.09%.

Analysis of wholesale price developments for this quarter indicates changes in the following major groups as follow: Agriculture goods + 0.91%; Manufacturing group + 0.18%; Fishing +  0.02%; and Mining and quarrying  - 0.46%.
