Tel Aviv July 1, 2010 (WAFA)- The citizens of southern Tel Aviv neighborhoods are trying to prevent the opening of a kindergarten, escalading with that the tension in the neighborhood.
Citizens of Kiryat Shalom neighborhood are trying to prevent the opining of a kindergarten, which is ought to take care of the children of immigrants, foreign labor, and refugees’ children.
This move comes after previous attempts to forbid African refugees from renting dorms spotted also in the neighborhood, which raises the tension in the southern areas of the city to a boiling point according to the Israeli newspaper Yediot Ahronot.
At a tensed meeting between the citizens and the city council, citizens have demanded to cancel opining the kindergarten, though the city council refused their demand, the daily has added.
The newspaper has reported that the citizens have threatened to demonstrate in front of the kindergarten gate and physically prevent the children from entering their kindergarten.
