NEGEV, May 9, 2026 (WAFA) – A Palestinian citizen from the Arab Bedouin city of Rahat in the 1948 territories was killed at dawn on Saturday after being shot by Israeli police.
The man was identified as Ahmad Sa’id al-Na’ami, 50.
The shooting took place in Neighborhood 2 in Rahat, a densely populated residential area, where al-Na’ami was pronounced dead at the scene.
The killing comes amid escalating criticism of Israeli police policies toward Arab citizens, particularly the excessive use of force and what rights groups describe as a trigger-happy approach, amid repeated calls for investigations into fatal police shootings.
