RAMALLAH, June 22, 2010 (WAFA)- The Palestinian Bar Association (PBA) together with EUPOL COPPS have started the implementation of a 3-week specialization course for criminal defence lawyers in forensics that commenced yesterday, in the central premises of the PBA in Ramallah.
The basic training of this course will take place between June 21 and July 10, 2010. It will be attended by criminal defence lawyers that have been selected by a joint committee, composed of members of the PBA and EUPOL COPPS.
The training will be conducted by Dr. Friedrich Schwindt, a Criminal Investigation Director from the Federal Republic of Germany, and coordinated by EUPOL COPPS’ Defense Counsel Expert Julia Rutz.
The main modules of the training will deal with crime scene management, classification of evidence, causes of death, collection of special evidence, expert statements and interrogation techniques.
There will be three courses for 20 trainees each that will take place on a parallel basis in the northern, central and southern West Bank (Northern Districts: PBA Nablus branch, Center Districts: PBA Ramallah, Southern Districts: PBA Bethlehem/Hebron branch) during the next three weeks.
