PARIS, June 1, 2010 (WAFA) - The Euro-Mediterranean Non-Governmental Platform condemned much strongly the interception, in international waters, of the flotilla carrying staple products to Gaza.
It expressed its deep shock from the violence used by the Israeli army which resulted in the death of at least 20 unarmed civilians and several injured.
It said, the Security Council should order an international investigation about these events.
Platform reaffirmed the need to put an end to the blockade of Gaza. It calls upon the United Nations and the European Union to impose the necessary sanctions against Israeli authorities so that they respect International Law and stop benefiting from impunity.
Euromed Platform bowed down before the memory of the activists who gave their lives so that the people of Gaza would live. It extends its feelings of solidarity and sympathies to their families and relatives.
