BEIRUT, May 4, 2026 (WAFA) – The death toll due to the ongoing Israeli aggression on Lebanon has surged to 2,696, according to the Lebanese National News Agency (NNA).
It reported the Lebanese Health Ministry as confirming that the death toll and the number of injured have increased to 2,696 and 8,264, respectively, since March 2.
Earlier, it reported that Israeli warplanes carried out a series of airstrikes targeting the outskirts of Deir Siryan-Zawtar, the town of Kounine in the Bint Jbeil district, and the town of Baraachit in southern Lebanon.
It added that Kounine town was subjected to intermittent artillery shelling, at a time when two airstrikes targeted the town of Deir Qanoun al-Nahr and the outskirts of the town of Jannata.
In the Bint Jbeil district, an Israeli airstrike pounded an uninhabited house in the town of Kafra, while another targeted the outskirts of the town of Kharayeb in the Zahrani district.
NNA also reported that Israeli airstrikes also hit the southern towns of Dbaal and Qana in the Tyre district after issuing warnings to residents, while two people were killed in a separate strike on Shhour.
Warplanes also struck Zawtar al-Sharqiya and Baraachit in the Bint Jbeil district, as artillery shelled Mansouri in Tyre.
