PCBS stressed, the total number of guest nights reached 285,879 nights; while 9% of these nights were occupied by Palestinian guests, 39% by guests who arrived from European Union countries, and 13% by the guests who arrived from the United States of America and Canada.
PCBS said, most of the guests nights were in Jerusalem and south of the West Bank, representing 41% and 40% of the total guests respectively; while less than 1% of nights in Gaza Strip hotels.
This info released is the main findings of the Hotel Activities Survey for the first quarter 2010, which aims to give users an overall idea of the most important indicators of the Hotel Activities, mainly the number of guests, average number of workers, occupancy rates, and other main indicators.
The number of operating hotels in the Palestinian Territory at the end of the first quarter was 95 operating hotels in March 2010, offering 4,898 rooms with 10,520 total available beds, of which 30 hotels comprising 1,467 rooms that offer 3,195 beds were in the Jerusalem region. The results show that the number of workers in the Palestinian hotels was 1,802 of whom 254 were females.
